Configure the Connection from Legacy Orchestrator to rabbitmq

Prev Next

This article provides the steps to configure connection from Skylight orchestrator to rabbitmq.

IMPORTANT

Considerations for updating the script:

  • Add a space (" ") between "external:" and "true": REPLACE1="aod_default:\n external:true" => REPLACE1="aod_default:\n external: true"
  • Remove '`' in 3 direct commands
Please refer to JoinSwarm.sh for details

Considerations for HTTP port default of Skylight orchestrator business service and aod_nginx service of docker swarm:

  • The services on Skylight orchestrator can give error message "Error starting userland proxy: listen tcp4 0.0.0.0:80: bind, address already in use" if this happens:
stop services -> reboot Docker host of Skylight orchestrator -> and start services again
  • Update the HTTP port for Skylight orchestrator business service except for default port 80 as the workaround for this issue (please refer to step 8 for details)

To configure the connection from Skylight orchestrator to rabbitmq

  1. Transfer JoinSwarm.sh file to the /home/skylight/ folder on the Docker host of Skylight orchestrator Docker

  2. Open an SSH terminal session to the Docker host of Skylight orchestrator Docker (port 22), and log in with one user having sudo privileges or root access on this host.

  3. Execute the JoinSwarm.sh script with sudo privileges:

sudo chmod +x /home/skylight/JoinSwarm.sh
sudo /home/skylight/JoinSwarm.sh X.X.X.X

Note: X.X.X.X is an IP address in IPv4 of Skylight Essential and this IP can be accessed from the Docker host of Skylight orchestrator Docker

  1. Enter the following information when running the script:
  • Confirm by entering "yes" if prompted to continue connecting
  • Enter admin's password on the Skylight Essential and the skylight's password on the Skylight orchestrator Docker if prompted
  • Confirm by entering “y” if prompted to proceed
  1. Open an SSH terminal session to the Docker host of Skylight Essential (port 22), and log in with the admin user.

  2. Disable the tx-checksum-ip-generic offloading feature on the interface that communicates with Skylight orchestrator Docker:

sudo ethtool -K YYYY tx-checksum-ip-generic off

Note: YYYY is an interface name on the Docker host of Skylight Essential that communicates with Skylight orchestrator Docker.

  1. Enable notification on the Skylight orchestrator database and configure the Message Broker.
Refer to Enabling or Disabling Notifications on Skylight orchestrator 23.12 for details information.
Note: the "brokerUrl" value MUST be "tcp://rabbitmq:1883"

  2. Update the HTTP port for Skylight orchestrator business service except for default port 80:

a. Open an SSH terminal session to socli of the Skylight orchestrator Docker (port 2200)
b. Stop services by entering:

services stop

c. When prompted enter:

y

d. Update the HTTP port for Skylight orchestrator business service except for default port 80 by entering:

config set network core-http-port <new port number>

e. Start services by entering:

services start

f. When prompted enter:

y
