# Dashboard Number/Aggregate Widget

The Number/Aggregate widget is a versatile component of a dashboard, designed to display a single key performance indicator (KPI) as either a number or a histogram, such as a pie chart, to offer:

- **Single KPI Display:** Visualize a single KPI clearly and concisely.
- **KPI Distribution in Bins:** Display the distribution of measures across different bins for enhanced analysis.
- **Color Coding:** Apply color coding to bins based on conditions such as greater than, less than, etc.
- **TopN Limitation:** Limit the display to the top N entries for focused insights.

This widget also provides support for:

- **Absolute Values:** Display the exact value in the bin.
- **Percentage Difference:** Show the percentage change compared to a baseline.
- **Threshold-Based Analysis:** Highlight values that exceed a specified baseline threshold.
- **Metadata Grouping:** Group data in pie charts using capture metadata, such as server zone classification.

### Runtime Options

- **Expand and Drill Down:** Click on a number or segment to expand to TopN or drill down further.
- **Hover for Summaries:** Hover over histogram segments to view a summary of the data.
- **Export Data:** Hover to export groupBy data for any post-aggregate bins.

### Aggregate Widget

You have various options for the Aggregate widget, you can select the one that best suits your needs. See the screenshots below for examples of these options:

### Capture Data Source

You can filter and group by capture layer, available under the **Others** tab, to gain insights into how traffic or data is categorized.

**Note:** If the widget type changes in the configuration, the data-layer groupBy setting will be cleared if it is incompatible with the new widget type.

### Capabilities

- **Traffic Light to Complex Analysis:** From simple number displays to complex percentage analyses beyond thresholds.
- **Threshold Exceedance Display:** Effectively show how measures exceed set thresholds and visualize measure distributions.
- **Bins and Post-Aggregate Analysis:** Use bins to group measures and post-aggregate to analyze distributions beyond thresholds.
- **Dashboard Linking:** Number/Aggregate boxes can link to other dashboards and apply filters for deeper analysis.
- **GroupBy Considerations:** When using pie charts, consider the number of sets to maintain usefulness.
- **Security Data Source Grouping:** Group by options, such as alert detection types, for security data sources.
